Our children are being targeted on Mxit and other chat networks. The
latest incident happened on thursday 16th July, when a 16 year old girl
was taken in Farrarmere by one of the "pretenders" on Mxit. She returned
home on Saturday evening, however there was proof of sexual
exploitation. A concerted effort to find the suspect paid off on Sunday
night when he was arrested. He was caught through the unwavering
commitment of her father, the Benoni CPF, The Pink Ladies, the
Farrarmere Community Precinct and the SAPS.

Please make your children aware of the dangers, even preventing them
from using these services. We know these services are very cheap to use
but we also need to ask ourselves if this is the price we put on our
children's lives. The statistics of missing children, especially where
these "Chat rooms" are involved, are staggering.

We cannot just sit and say that it will never happen to us; the fact is
that it can happen sooner than you think, so please become more aware
and more involved. There is a large network in place to track and find
these perpetrators and to come down on them with the greatest of forces.

If you suspect anyone of perpetrating these crimes, or someone who has
been drawn into this sick crim, please do not leave it, get involved and
let the people that care about these children try and find them and let
the the law take it's course with them.

Please contact your local SAPS office, CPF or The Pink Ladies if you
have any info.
