  • Housebreaking and theft in Linda St on 24.2.13 at 11h06. Neighbour phoned in.  Front door and security gate forced open.  TV and scanner stolen.
  • Other theft in Kei on 24.2.13 at 23h17. He suspects someone who was staying there stole a cell phone, wallet and pellet gun.
  • Hijacking in Eugene Marais on 22.2.13 at 17h15. She stopped at the driveway and 2 armed black males approached and pulled client out of the vehicle and hijacked her BMW.
  • Attempted housebreaking in Uys Krige on 21.2.13 at 13h00. Security gate forced open.  Domestic spotted them and suspects fled.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Bayley on 21.2.13 at 15h42. Suspects forced open the door.  Safe and 2 cameras stolen

  • Attempted housebreaking in Rainbow on 18.2.13 at 03h23. Suspects tried to break a window but it is shatterproof.  They used a pole with a hook to pull a handbag through the window.
  • Attempted theft of motor vehicle at The Square on 15.2.13 at 11h35. Suspects tried to steal a Nissan Sentra. Door forced open and ignition damaged.

  • Housebreaking and theft in Orion on 13.2.13 at 07h03. Bedroom window broken. Laptop stolen.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Vaal on 14.2.13 01h54. Window broken with a brick. Laptop and ipad stolen.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Windermere on 14.2.13 at 19h14. Window broken to gain entry.  House ransacked.  Not sure what was taken.
  • Armed robbery in Bayley on 12.2.13 at 13h00. 4 suspects armed with knives and screwdrivers forced open the front door and forced domestic into the bathroom.  They forced open the safe. Took firearm, jewellery and laptop.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Sapphire on 11.2.13 at 11h44. Front door forced open.  TV stolen.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Cambridge on 11.2.13 at 02h22. Window broken. Laptop stolen
  • Housebreaking and theft in Rainbow on 10.2.13 at 09h47. Front door forced open.  Client not there, so not sure what was taken.

Ekhurileni's Life Threatening Emergency Line Down

Residents of Ekurhuleni are advised to use the services emergency line 0860
543 000 to report life threatening emergencies following an incident of cable
theft in the early hours of this morning that has affected the life threatening
emergency lines (011) 458- 0911 and the toll free number 10177.

“Our life threatening emergency lines are currently down and Telkom
technician are working at replacing the stolen cable so that the lines can
be restored as soon as possible,” explains the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan
Municipality’s Anthony Kesten, Director for Disaster Management Services.

Kesten says that in the meantime the municipality’s services line will prioritise
life threatening emergency calls adding that the 112 cell phone line can still be
used to report emergencies as it is not affected.
