  • Other theft in Sheridan on 21.4.11 at 09h14. Gate motor stolen.
  • Attempted housebreaking in Maalstroom on 20.4.11 at 20h46. Suspects tried to force open sliding door but did not succeed.
  • Housebreaking and theft in Genevieve on 20.4.11 at 15h23. Front door and security gate forced open.  2 laptops, 2 TVs, playstation and jewellery stolen.
  • Theft of motor vehicle in Hubbard on 20.4.11 at 12h33. Merc stolen from the premises.
  • Hijacking in Reaper on 27.4.11 at 21h45. 3 armed suspects hijacked him of his Merc outside the premises.
  • Domestic violence in Tugela on 27.4.11 at 19h02. Father and son were fighting.

Hijacker caught in possession of vehicle!

Members from Benoni Police Station reacted speedily after receiving information
regarding a hijacked truck that was driving in Benoni area and arrested the
suspect.

A lookout was received regarding a truck with a red container that was hijacked
from Cleveland, Johannesburg. The truck was fitted with a tracking system and
indicated that it was moving along Great North Road, Benoni.

Members from Benoni Police Station reacted speedily and noticed the truck at a
robot crossing. The Police then managed to arrest the one suspect in the truck
who was a passenger at the time.  A 9mm pistol was also found on the suspect.
The driver was the actual person who was hijacked in Johannesburg

The suspect was detained at Benoni Police Station on the charge of
truck-hijacking.

  • Theft of petrol at BP Tom Jones on 2.4.11 at 22h50. People in a BMW put in petrol and drove off without paying.
